Christmas is over!

haha... i never thought i'd be this happy for Christmas to be over. don't get me wrong, it was a nice season, just an extremely tiring one.

the whole lead up to Christmas was sheer craziness! i was reading a friend's card to me and realised the sad truth of not being able to be as carefree and meet up with friends on a much regular basis. =( oh well, at least I still got to catch up with quite a few this year... a few more times than others...

anyway, my Christmas day was a very odd one. I basically spent the entire day packing my room! that's right... and it wasn't one of those stuff items into drawers and closets to make the surfaces tidy, it was a dig everything out and repack them neatly and get rid of those unnecessary stuff kinda packing. absolutely crazy! i started at 10.40am... at about 3pm, i was too far gone to change my mind... so the only way to go was to finish it all... and finish i did... at 11.45pm! lol... so it was a good 12 hours of packing cos i spent abt an hour on my meals... well, my room is really really really neat now. save for my dressing table drawers. but that's just four drawers, so it shouldn't be too bad. prob do it some sat morning or something. before chinese new year anyway.

listening to the best of frank sinatra... love his songs and his voice.. so classic... =) really much his era of songs as opposed to the music of this day and age... i find most of it rather tuneless and noisy.. but that's just my opinion... perhaps i don't listen enough to know of the good ones.

anyway, here's what I thank God for in 2006...

1. my family... who've always stood by me and ready to dish out advice (altho not all the time well accepted! lol) and who love me... *hugs*

2. xiang... he's got to be deserving of the most long suffering boyfriend to be able to put up with my crankiness and my ability to be completely unreasonable when i'm tired... and at times even when i'm NOT tired! *wink* though he's back for good, adjusting to him being in singapore 24/7 wasn't the easiest of things to do. but glad he's back anyway...

3. a new post at work which has opened up new challenges and made my job more fulfilling and satisfying.

4. friends at work. my sis was telling me 'colleagues are colleagues... when you actually find a friend from amongst them, it's just a bonus' well, i'm glad i've got 3 bonuses then! =)

5. everyone a part of my church's worship ministry... they've all come such a long way and i look forward to working with them to further improve our team's unity and heart of worship!

6. my lovely cell group... it's such a zany and supportive bunch.. plus regular in meeting up too!

7. my sweet girls in my sunday school class... they've brought me a lot of joy this year... and for 2007 i'm teaching my lil ones again.. they're 5 i think... so cute!!! the way they blink blink at me so cute! heehee...

8. His provision and wisdom. provision is so clear to me when i packed my room yesterday and realised i honestly don't need anything. i've got such an abundance of everything! wisdom because the bible says not to store up treasures on earth.. it's so true!!! all the stuff i own is really not impt at all and i definitely can't take it up to heaven with me... so the impt thing is to set my eyes on things above and remain focused on Him! =D

9. letting me take a step into baking! it's been a joy being able to bring others joy by sharing what i bake... =) plus my parents for buying me the oven!

10. all my Christmas gifts and cards... in my earlier entry i spoke of a friend i was speaking to about what Christmas gifts i wanted... well everything i mentioned in got! she combined with her sis and another friend! *sniffle* so touched! so now i've got cookie cutters, a cooling rack (a nice big one!!!), a chiffon cake tray and a Mr Bean bag! the new Mr Bean cartoon is so cute! the bag was a bonus... but it's really adorable!!!!! heehee... Mr Bean not as in rowan atkinson but the one that sells soya bean products.. heehee... i got two name card holders, both pink! lol... lovely... my sister bought me pictionary mania! sounds fun! my parents got me a bag and my mum added a surprise of bak kwa! lol.... xiang's mum got me a really nice bag too.. and so did a church auntie... so surprised... cos i was just lamenting that my bag's getting really crummy and all the threads are showing etc... and ta-daaa!!! i get three! actually four cos at my office party, the gift i drew was a bag too!!!! God provides! and many many many more gifts... plus some of the Christmas cards were really sweet... thank you thank you thank you... you've all been a blessing!

alrightey.. i'm sleepy! haha... yes it's really early but i've been having too many late nights. time to rest early for a change! =)

Shopping spree

Yesterday I left work punctually and hopped over to J8 to do some Christmas shopping. In a mere hour I bought 11 gifts. Then I stopped by Tiong Bahru Plaza and got another 11 in about 15 minutes. Lol...

Yes, the gifts were speaking to me yesterday... well sorta... think some of them don't fall under the 'perfect gift' category but nice gift at least. i hope... lol...

now i'm just left with my sister's gift... she keeps bugging me to get a gift for her... and even tells me what exactly she wants... i keep ignoring her... where got pple keep bugging others for gifts one??!!?!?! lol... i know she reads this... =D

then last night i wrapped a total of 17 gifts... after which i was too tired to continue... =) Christmas is just round the corner! =) =) =)

Christmas is coming!

Heehee... this year I got into the festive mood pretty early cos I was involved in a event at work that was Christmas centered somewhat... so it was the whole Christmas music thing... plus i had to order the buffet dinner for my church's Christmas service... so yes... in a Christmas mood...

now it's a matter of finding the appropriate gifts for dear friends and family... haha, talking to a friend about gifts right this instant. asking her what she wants and she's asking me what i want in return...

baking stuff's good but if u do want to get any, it'll be good to just ask me cos i've got a fair bit of stuff already... anyway, if u do get me baking stuff, u'll benefit too cos i'll bake more! lol...

if not borders, kino or popular vouchers are very useful... =)

cook book for pastries and pies are nice too... i've got got one for biscuits and another for cakes and yet another for pizzas... so pastries and pies would be nice... savoury pies, not fruit ones tho... but then again maybe they're all in the same book.

no stuff toys tho please... all my toys are already vying for my attention so anymore would simply add to their misery. lol... and gone is my fascination with pigs, so unless it's absolutely adorable or useful, no need to get pigs ya?

a namecard holder would be useful. the one i've got is so thin it can barely hold any...

nice notebooks are good too...

lalala... anyway, i'm just being presumptuous that anyone even wants to buy me presents! haha....

tempted to bake later, but my mum doesn't seem too thrilled at the idea... wonder what i'm gonna do the whole of today... sigh...

not much of a life lately... so sad...

but i did catch the new bond movie... tho my family absolutely hates it and found it an utter waste of time, when i caught it with xiang yesterday, we rather liked it! heehee.... ah well... think a contributing factor was that i finally did something after a period of staying home every night.
