pasta! korean show! so u think u can dance!

i thank God for

1. yummy pasta dinner... been craving for it for some time already. then was supposed to eat it on friday but my sis wanted to go watch over the hedge, so as a result my family ended up dining out. yesterday the pasta dinner was what kept me going.. i kept thinking 'pasta tonight! pasta tonight!' heehee... plus i get pasta for lunch today too cos we had too much. =P
2. this korean show abt an arranged marriage between an 18 yr old girl and a guy a decade older. their chemistry's great and she's so cute.. and the third party aka the guy's first love is so mean and nasty!
3. then after an hour of that i watched so u think u can dance... yes the we already know the ultimate winner but i guess it's still fun to watch.. but last night i saw my artem leaving the show... so sad... i like him.. he was so sweet abt his wife being apart from him and he can dance really nice too!

kk... it's 7am... gotta book badminton courts~

boring vs comfy

heehee... yesterday whilst at church, i got to carry the only baby around... he's real sweet... he's cute and chubby and never cries... well not in church anyway... always very amiable and often ahs a bemused expression. he's the kind of baby who everybody and anybody can carry. anyway, he's adorable lah. took some pics but not sure if the parents will be too thrilled to have their son's photo up, so if you get to meet me, ask to see em cos they're in my phone.

anyway the title of this entry 'boring vs comfy'... heehee.. u see the last time i carried this baby, he promptly fell asleep. yesterday, he did it again! less than 2 min in my arms and he was in zzz land. lol... so it felt nice to know that the baby felt safe and secure in my arms... then a church mate came in and saw that he had fallen asleep, so he said 'i carry.. (another church mate) carry he so awake. u carry he fall asleep. must be u boring lah!' lol... that's really another way of lookin at it... oh well, i vote for comfy! heehee... maybe i have a steady heartbeat that lulls him to sleep or something. but he's soooooooooooooooooooo sweet. =)

i was just looking thru some of my older entries and yes i do talk abt badminton a lot don't i? guess cos it's abt the most exciting thing i do each week. perhaps once one starts working your weekdays are already more or less gone and weekends u can bum or just hang out with friends... but nothing much to say abt those two... so the most exciting one's badminton! for me anyway... heehee...

had an hour's worth of badminton with three colleagues on thursday... they haven't touched it for a really long time so i was really glad that they agreed to come play... =) we're going again this thursday... hopefully last week's game warmed them up to the sport more... heehee...

yesterday badminton with my church mates was soooooooo fun! why? cos i think we were all more or less on form yesterday... so we made very nice shots.. shots that we normally don't make and when they were counted in, it really felt very nice... i guess another factor contributing to it being fun was that the weather was nice and cool from the heavy rain earlier in the day, so everyone was feeling nicer than last week when the courts felt like a pressure cooker! so thankful for Daffy in all her coaching... plus yesterday we had another guy friend joining us and he could smash shots so i think at least it made it more fun for daffy... otherwise the poor girl always has to worry abt smashing her shuttlecocks straight into me (somehow i just just seem to siam in time)... got smashed twice yesterday tho... but for one lingy didn't hit me with a shuttlecock when i was partnering her... so that's not so bad... very thankful this isn't tennis, otherwise i'm bound to be black and blue each week. whew!

watched the bone collector with my daddy on fri night cos my sis and mum went for a movie. it was quite a gripping show tho i kinda guessed the murderer early on cos i noticed his eyes.... but then again maybe cos my colleague kinda like gave away the fact that u wouldn't believe who the murderer was... so i knew it was someone who appeared earlier and seemed harmless.


ok so i thank God for

1. badminton yesterday and on thu! =)
2. meeting up with my friend on sat and we went to the arcade and blew 8.50 there... heehee
3. the facial i went for on sat evening (the facialist was real nice) - i havent been to one for like 2-3 years... so there was so much stuff to extract... heehee...
4. then had dinner with lingy cos we both went for the facial and we had the interesting experience of eating bk at the yangtze cinema building... the cinema posters were so raunchy looking and the whole building seemed to be covered in grime! rather seedy place but hey, it was convenient! heehee... but the bk still tasted nice and normal
5. a nice and full weekend, so many things took place that it didn't even feel like it was just a mere two days
6. no activities after work today so i can head back to watch my korean show something abt the 18yr old bride... plus so you think you can dance! =)
7. xiang - he's been very nice and understanding and has let me gone to bed pretty early despite not being able to talk to me for very long. but he'll be back real soon so we finally don't need to be tied down by time difference and being miles and miles apart =)

a fun-filled saturday

hey all, i had such a lovely time today... firstly went to pick my phone up from the nokia care centre and i didn't have to wait at all! thank God for that! =) phone seems to be a lot better now...

then met my dear fren maggie for lunch and we had yummy twister fries at macs! heehee... i've been dying to eat them since i saw that they were back in macs... but just didn't have the opportunity! finally managed to fulfill my craving... then we shopped around a bit and had a good time just chatting with maggie dear... and! she bought my my birthday present! i asked for wristbands and we got this pair of really lovely pink ones! heehee... i've been wanting to buy them for the longest time but found no justification in purchasing two pieces of cloth for like more than $10... so when mag asked me what i wanted, i thought this was a good way to buy something i want/need but didn't find worth it... heehee...

after that went to meet my colleague to go play badminton... she was with her cousins... her cousins are like these teenagers! made me think back of the days when i was a student and enjoyed the carefee lifestyle plus lots of student discounts! heehee... they're a cute and fun bunch... forever suanning one another... so funny... i was very amused the whole afternoon... the two boys played a mean game of badminton so it was great fun... after that we proceeded to kovan to play pool... sigh... only won one game out of the three i played... ah well... it was ok lah... after that we went for a sinful meal at kfc... it was a good day... =)

plus i get to play badminton with some of my cg mates again tom! yay! whoopee!!!!!

new phone!

hello hello...

i thank God for...

1. my daddy - he was so sweet and bought me a spanking new phone... nokia 6280! heehee... so now i've got a 2 megapixel camera, an mp3 player and a radio all rolled into one... *happy*
2. my palm... i thought it was going to give me problems considering i hadn't used it for such a long time, but it didn't... so it's been a great help in helping maintain my budget plus keep me entertained on train rides
3. my three girl friends whom i've known since secondary school... we met up recently and we spent like the whole day together... we met at abt 11am and played pool, had lunch, went to some board game cafe for games and drinks, walked about and had dinner before finally heading home.. it was neat to just chill out with them...
4. maggie! am meeting up with her again this sat... =) yay
5. the resolve to finally get myself going to the gym later this evening... hopefully the resolve will last till then... lol...
6. my yummy yummy chicken mayo sandwich i had this morning.. mum made chicken last night and i snitched some pieces for my sandwich this morning.. heehee... it was good! =)
7. helping me lead the short bible study at my workplace yesterday.. taught a bunch of adults a sunday sch song with actions... so funny! and they sang with such gusto! it was great...
8. good health... a couple of friends and colleagues have been ill lately, but i thank God for keeping me healthy and well despite coming into close contact with them...
9. water! it's so good have a nice glass of plain water when one's throat is parched... it's simply... nice! heh!
10. for bringing daffy and her mummy safely back to singapore.. but pls pray for daffy cos she's ill... poor dear
11. helping me get a badminton court in hougang as that would really help shorten one of my cg mate's travelling time.. actually of the five of us playing this sunday, three of them are northerners and one's an easterner, so yeah, i think they ought to be happy... =)
12. the fact that in 34 days yixiang will be home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whoopee!!!!!! *happy*
13. letting me catch MI3 with two of my colleagues... it was nice to hang out with them after work last monday... the show was great too... tho tom cruise's appeal has dwindled in my eyes after the whole 'i'm so crazy abt katie' thing... =P

yes... it's been good... God's been good... as always...

didn't lose the money! =)

I thank God for...

1. returning my money! heh! u see i'm in charge of my dept's petty cash.. n yesterday i was tabulating and realised i was short of $7.20... now this amount makes no sense cos none of the receipts came remotely close to that amount... so i figured i better top it up cos no matter what it had to be my mistake cos i'm the only one who handles the cash... this morning my finance dept returned me $11.00 for an earlier receipt cos it was of a different account... then i realised that there was an extra of $3.80 which was the exact amount that i was supposed to claim for something that i had purchased for the dept. so not only did i not have to top up the $7.20, i got to claim my $3.80 which i forgot to take earlier! heehee! blur me! but clear God! =)
2. Had a nice dinner with my sis and church mate eliza yesterday. went to cafe cartel for dinner... ordered the ribs! they're good! haven't had it for years! the meat just slides off the bone.. very nice... the chicken soup they served also very nice... and the freshly baked bread still fresh from the oven, very nice indeed! heehee... macham free advertising for them sia! heehee... good meal... good company... =)

auntie siew lan's coming to play!

I thank God for...

1. Being able to book the courts really easily today... Xiang and I were able to get in quite easily and get the courts, tho the only setback was that we were trying to get courts at hougang or bishan but there weren't any. So managed to get our good and faithful clementi. Yup...
2. Auntie Siew Lan's coming to play too!!!!!! She usually declines cos clementi is too far for her, but since it was to be n hougang or bishan when i called her last night, she agreed. this morning i was quite sad not to get the hougang or bishan courts cos that means inconvenience to huifen and it means that auntie siew lan probably wouldn't come. but she actually replied to say she'll be joining us this sunday! somemore her sms got smiley face! woohoo! so exciting! so there'll be 11 pple this sunday... funfunfun! =)
3. Drove to work today with relative ease... traffic was pretty light tho there was a 'crazy' driver who kept venturing into my lane... so i went to the rightmost lane sped up and overtook... but he not happy, so he too went to the rightmost lane and sped up and overtook... childish! i did it cos it was dangerous to have him venturing in and out of my lane... sigh...

all in all, still a good morning... cos had a nice chat with xiang too... and it's only 8am! gosh... the time i have to wake up to book courts is insane at times... but always well worth it... =) heehee...

great badminton session!

i thank God for

1. the wonderful badminton session... daffy's badminton friend came along so there was finally a fighting chance for the side without daffy to win! heehee... so it was wonderful... at least the pts earned weren't by fluke or by daffy's mistake as it normally happens.. heehee... think she had fun too lah... at least she can smash the shuttlecock and actually have it returned! heehee...
   
2. safe journey cos it was raining but i drove without a problem! praise God!
   

it was a nice time... so nice that i had to blog!

The day after

Yesterday I didn't have a nice day. Though most of the yuckiness was self-inflicted. It still felt like a horrible day. Moped. Didn't have a nice badminton session (sorry daff, ling and chien...) BUT I thank God for...

1. My family. That above all things, I know that they love me.
   
2. Friends who stood by me yesterday and treated me to ice cream(letting me choose the 'tasteless' flavour), let me choose to eat hot plate tofu, put up with my 'oola impersonation' and cheena mandarin, gave up a rally and let me take a leisurely bath...
   
3. Xiang who was so sweet and understanding
   
4. Clearing my head enough to put yesterday behind me and start the day right
5. A safe drive up to CCK and back with my whole family in the car (no honks from other cars, no swerves, no breaking of road rules)
   
6. A yummy breakfast that included two half-boiled eggs ( i usually avoid it cos i know mum finds the yolk too high in cholestrol) =)
7. My progress package! heehee! yeah, i'm one of the many who got it early tho I didn't know till this morning/last night... (i forget)
8. Letting me witness two of my friends getting married on saturday (tho the heat was sweltering, it was endearing to see the two lovebirds finally tie the knot after so long...)
   
9. May day! cos it's a public holiday! so nice not to have to work on Monday! heehee... shortens the week too...
   
10. Melissa (my pianist) and Wayne (my guitarist) who both turned up in church for practice pretty early yesterday... Daffy (my ppt person) who enthusiastically typed out all the slides cos she had time! Huifen (my sound person) who did her duties despite lacking sleep from the previous night at a chalet...
    
11. A sweet baby in my church call Joshua! He's so cute and sweet natured... doesn't cry... and ANYONE can carry him... but he only falls asleep on a selected few... yours truly included... heehee... comfortable mah! so much 'bak'! heehee... he's sweet... but heavy! nice to hug tho.... =)
    

yup... i thank God that despite not having a nice day yesterday, i can still have so many things to thank Him for today! =)
