august - fast or slow?

was telling xiang the other day that august seemed awfully slow. and yet it was such a hectic month! in my experience hectic months are usually deemed as fast!

how odd! perhaps so many things were squeezed into it, that it seemed a lot longer than it was.

take the last week of august for instance. our parents finally met to discuss all the wedding stuff. and with that we were finally able to proceed to search for suitable venues and what have you. in a span of two nights we visited four places... so much so that by sunday when cell members asked 'how'd the parents' meeting session go?' did i pause to realise that it was just a mere 7 days ago.

after visiting four places, and many searches online and requests for bridal packages to be emailed over, we've found our place. going to their bridal fair this coming 23rd, and likely to sign up the day itself.

and no it's not that early (as most pple have exclaimed heehee) cos if u think abt it, it's already september, and our wedding in 2009 isn't in the last quarter, the third or the second. it's 10days into the new year. so nope, not too early in my opinion.

august also saw myself taking on a new mentee and being a close friend's accountability partner. plus my tuition kid's CAs meant going down 7 times, and plus the other tuition kid it was a total of 10 times the entire month. 10 nights of tuition, with 3 nights for mentee and accountability, partner, 1 day to remove a cyst in my mouth and recuperate from mini surgery, celebrated 4 years with xiang, met up with a few friends, wedding banquet venue search took a week... it was truly a packed month.

in the last week, the days i do get home straight after work i found myself going to bed at 8.30pm. nice long restful sleeps they were... just had one last night. lol... looking at my planner, sept is going to be equally busy. but at least no more wedding banquet venue searches.

anyone know any good photographers, church reception caterers and bridal studios?

here's what i thank God for in the past month and a half that i've been missing from blogspot

  1. shared Christ with another colleague and she's since signed up for the alpha course! =)
  2. met up with a dear friend and ex-colleague early aug
  3. 4 years with xiang! (wow...)
  4. meeting up with my mentee and seeing how God worked in putting us together
  5. catching up with a close friend which has resulted in us committing to spend time studying God's Word together
  6. swift and painless removal of the cyst in my mouth. it's healing beautifully and really praise God for that!
  7. helping xiang and i find a suitable venue that we both like very very very much
  8. giving me the strength to help mum lug groceries around the market and subsequently help dad wash his car
  9. the safe return of a cell member from china
  10. the answered prayers to a dear friend's fast
  11. catching up with a newly wedded friend and learning so much from her... she's like the no. 1 bargain-er!
alrightey, gotta head off to work... =)

Hey!!
Wedding photographers... well try www.tsangstudios.com
Kenneth (the photographer) is really great. Becky and I had met him before and seen his works. They are really pro. Depending on your budget, you can choose various package. He does only actual day shoot, so if you are gonna get some bridal package, check if package includes AD. If so, you may wanna change it out, and use Kenneth or just stick to the package. We are getting Kenneth for our wedding too. He super nice guy, and his wife very funny one. haha!

For church reception, you can try Manna Pot. Talk to Linda or Jonathan. They are the in charge I think. The packages are affordable too. There is S$8,10,12 per pax menu. And service is good. They even reserve the day for us already. Eaten their food before too, it's nice.
