a new beginning

it's more than a week into the new year now... interesting how the years seem to fly by once one's out of school. i guess it's cos there aren't the milestones to reach anymore... it's all lumped under 'adult' now. lol...
i mean the first was to reach primary school. then it was the PSLE... then the 'O' levels, followed by the 'A' levels and finally graduation from university. i marvel at those who wish to continue their studies and get their masters etcetcetc. many ask me whether i'll study again... honestly i can't think of why i'd want to do it again, but people change, so maybe i'll change my mind in time to come.
what i do wanna pick up now tho is a new language... still considering if i ought to learn malay or thai... malay cos for the longest time strangers have always thought i was malay! so why not learn it and actually be able to understand them when they speak to me in malay? thai because of my church's direction to go into missions and our tie up with a Christian over in thailand... hmm... haven't decided...
this morning was my first time going to the polyclinic! the number of people that visit the polyclinic's simply amazing... quite an experience i must say... gotta go again next week. not looking forward to it cos of the wait. but no choice i guess...
on sunday went to my cell mate's new house in seng kang... that has started an ongoing discussion with xiang as to where we'd like to live in future... lol... as attractive as it is to get such a huge apartment for an affordable price, think we've both agreed that we'd like to live nearer town area... think i've been pampered by living in quite a central area for many years now.. since i was two actually! all the aunties and uncles in my block have seen me grow up... it's awfully funny when i meet them at the lift lobby and i chirped 'auntie! uncle!' and all these newly moved in folks will stare at me and wonder what's a grown up calling people who don't look all that old auntie and uncle! lol... it's funny... but it's the culture of my block i guess... in fact quite of a few of those young ones these days don't call anymore... guess that's not wrong, just not what i'm used to perhaps... but u know you're getting older when the younger parents ask their kids to call you auntie instead of cheche! lol...
